RT Logic Launches DG5000 High Rate Signal Processor, the Latest Advance in Multipurpose Digital Signal Processing

New Platform Fuels New Product Lines and Enhances Capabilities of Channel Simulation, satID(R) Signal Geolocation and Monics(R) Satellite Carrier Monitoring Solutions

WASHINGTON and COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo., March 16, 2010 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Integral Systems, Inc. (Nasdaq:ISYS) announced today at the Satellite 2010 Conference that its wholly-owned subsidiary RT Logic, has launched its newest and most powerful high-rate signal processor platform. The DG5000 brings a software definable, high-fidelity signal processing core to a wide range of satellite, UAV, range, DRFM, radar, threat simulation, jamming, missile and aircraft applications.

The DG5000 is a dynamic, high-resolution platform for Intermediate Frequency (IF), Radio Frequency (RF) and baseband signal processing for the company's Ethernet-attached and Compact PCI (cPCI) systems. The new solution can operate without a cPCI controller, and features signal conditioning, high performance Analog-To-Digital Converters (ADC) and Digital-To-Analog Converters (DAC), powerful Digital Signal Processing (DSP) and 512 MB of DDR2 SDRAM for high-speed local storage. The product can switch quickly between pre-programmed and/or field-customized "personalities" allowing unmatched flexibility in meeting current and future application requirements.

"The DG5000 is the latest step in RT Logic's development of powerful signal processing technologies and software defined instrumentation to supercharge our solutions," said Steve Williams, Signal Instrumentation Business Area Manager at RT Logic. "The DG5000 allows significant performance and functional advances in our signal detection, simulation and monitoring products, and also enables a wide range of new systems and applications."

RT Logic provides firmware personalities for the DG5000 that support a wide array of custom requirements. This includes digital downconversion, signal generation, channel simulation, pulse generation, filtering, spectrum analysis, decimation, PSK and PM carrier demodulation, subcarrier B/QPSK demodulation, and Viterbi decoding.

After customizable front-end filtering, the DG5000 samples signals at 213 Msps with a 12-bit ADC. The signal samples are processed by the onboard FPGA/DSP according to the firmware personalities defined on the device's microSD card. An optional Fiber interface can operate in Fiber-Ethernet mode or provide output data at rates exceeding 4 Gbps.

With its powerful processing capability, high throughput, wide frequency spectrum support and flexible field programmable design, the DG5000 will provide new signal processing capabilities for a wide range of civilian, commercial and government/military uses. These new capabilities include:

The DG5000 began shipping this month with RT Logic's satID Satellite Interference Geolocation systems, and will ship soon with SAT Corporation's Monics signal monitoring products. Integration of the DG5000 into additional signal processing solutions is also underway.

The Integral Systems family of companies, including RT Logic will be exhibiting at booth 937.
